YADA HASHIM WILLIAMS
Yada holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with honours (LLB Hons.) from the University of Sierra Leone and a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of London.
Yada has been a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone for over 30 years. He is greatly experienced in civil and criminal matters and has practiced at all levels of the court in both regard. Yada is no stranger to the Supreme Court where he frequently takes cases affecting the rights of his clients whether on appeal or based on the Constitution of Sierra Leone for opinion, interpretation, declaration or determination.
He has held several strategic roles in Sierra Leone through which he has additionally been able to develop the legal jurisprudence of the nation. He was the Senior Administrator of the Legal Reform Initiative Limited (2003-2006), a consultant to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission set up post Sierra Leone’s civil war (2003-2004), Defence Counsel at the Special Court of Sierra Leone (2004-2007) and Lead Appeals Counsel at the Special Court of Sierra Leone (2007-2008).
Within the regulatory framework of the legal profession, Yada has been the Acting President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (2006-2007), a member of the Judicial & Legal Service Commission (2007-2009) and the Chairman of the Law Reform Commission (2010-2016).
Yada is currently the Chairman of the Law Reform Commission in Sierra Leone, a role he has occupied since April 2023. Outside of the office, Yada can be found on a golf course or on a boat, fishing.
YEAWOMA GBORIE
Yeawoma is a Barrister and Solicitor called to the Sierra Leone Bar in 2018. She holds an LLB from Kampala International University, Uganda and an LLM (Distinction) in Human Rights & Justice from Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom.
During her LLM, she majored in the following: Public International & Humanitarian Law; Human Rights & Criminal Justice; Victims’ Rights & Restorative Justice; Expression Rights: Art, Politics & Religion, Data Protection & Privacy Law and ICC & International Crimes.
She undertook her pupillage at the firm of Yada Williams & Associates and is currently an associate at the firm. Since she joined Yada Williams & Associates, she has had further experience working on matters relating to trademarks, criminal law, arbitration, banking law, law of trusts, family and domestic relations, and estates and succession law amongst others.
As part of her portfolio at the firm, Yeawoma operates as the legal head of the conference of religious entity and manages the retainers of an insurance company, and a commercial bank in Sierra Leone.
She is currently the financial secretary of Legal Access Through Women Yearning For Equality and Social Justice (L.A.W.Y.E.R.S).
JUELLA NOLDRED
Juella holds an LLB from the University of Kent and an LLM in Corporate Law from the University College London (UCL). She graduated from the Sierra Leone Law School as the 2018/2019 class valedictorian.
Juella has worked on a wide array of matters gaining experience in litigation, arbitration and soliciting in several of the firm’s practice areas. She is no stranger to being thrown into the deep end in litigation and arbitration, but outside those, she performs advisory roles, drafts documents and legal instruments, and is a highly competent legal researcher.
Juella supervises the interns at the firm, and with a keen interest in technology and innovation, she is the firm’s go-to person for all things related to information, communications and technology. She manages the legal retainer of two telecommunication and smart utility companies in Sierra Leone, and sits at the helm of legal affairs in a public private partnership in the country’s real estate industry.
Being particular about human rights and development, Juella is a member of Soroptimist International of Freetown and is the Deputy Team Lead of the Advocacy and Representation Committee of Legal Access Through Women Yearning For Equality and Social Justice (L.A.W.Y.E.R.S).
Ibrahim holds a Bachelor of Social Science Degree with honours from the University of Sierra Leone, LLB (Hons) Degree from University of Sierra Leone, a BL from the Sierra Leone Law School and was called to the Sierra Leone Bar in 2018.
Ibrahim is a barrister and solicitor of the Superior Courts of Sierra Leone and has appeared and argued in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Ibrahim has over the years represented corporate and individual clients in civil and criminal litigation. He is versed in several of the firm’s practice areas but operates mainly in the firm’s corporate and commercial space where he performs roles such as incorporation of companies and business registration, the merging and acquisition of companies, and the setting up of joint ventures.
His practice also covers due diligence in regard mining laws particularly on permit acquisition of mineral rights, reviewing and structuring investments and ensuring compliance on environment, tax, human rights, employment and regulations.
He further advises clients on employment contracts, employment disputes and policies, negotiation and mediation and the review of employment related documents.
Outside of work, Ibrahim’s simple interest is football.
GBATUNDU KUTUBU
Gbatundu Kutubu holds an my LLB from the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone where he graduated with a First-Class (Hon) Degree and emerged as Best Law Student in 2019. He was called to the Sierra Leone Bar in 2021 graduating with the Best Overall Performance.
He is currently an associate at the firm of Yada Williams & Associates. As a pupil, he has been exposed to diverse areas of the law ranging from Commercial Law, Arbitration & Alternative Dispute Resolutions, Admiralty Law, vast and intensive research and writing of legal opinion and articles. Further, his involvement in the nature of assistance to seniors in the firm offers a rich experience in credibility, integrity, hard work and a genuine approach towards seeking excellence in the practice of the law.
DESPAUL BLACK
Despaul Black holds an LLB from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone where he graduated as Best student from the University in 2020. He was called to the Sierra Leone Bar in January 2022 graduating as Valedictorian. He is currently serving his pupillage at the firm where he has been exposed to diverse legal tasks ranging from conducting legal research, writing letters, opinions, legal synopses, drafting legal instruments and other forms of contracts, pleadings and other court documents under the supervision of his seniors in the firm.
Despaul attends court and other proceedings with his pupil master and seniors in the firm, represents clients in the Magistrates Court, attends meetings for and on behalf of the firm, accompanies clients to meetings and negotiates settlements, under the supervision of a senior in chambers.
ADEL BULL
Adel Bull holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B Hons.) from Fourah Bah College, the University of Sierra Leone. He was called to the Sierra Leone Bar in 2022 and emerged as the class valedictorian.
During his time at the firm, he has been exposed to different spheres of the law and has gained worthwhile experience in both civil and criminal practice of the law. He has engaged in professionally challenging legal research and opinion writings on areas bordering on commercial law, employment law, arbitration, and adjudication, amongst others.
MOHAMED ASMIOU JALLOH
Asmiou is a highly skilled and passionate pupil barrister at the firm. With an impressive academic background, he graduated with a first class LLB Hons degree from the University of Sierra Leone, Fourah Bay College. His exceptional academic performance continued as he was called to the Sierra Leone Bar in 2023 as the class valedictorian.
As a pupil barrister, Asmiou is committed to learning from his seniors and delivering excellence in the tasks assigned to him. He has proven to be great support at the firm and his passion for the law is reflected in his continuous pursuit of legal excellence
